Bio

Michael Moore is a graduate of Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA. While there, he studied under composers Janice Giteck and Wayne Horvitz. His works have been performed by various ensembles including Pacific Rims Percussion Ensemble, St. Helens String Quartet, and the Seattle Chamber Brass Quintet.

His music aims to create a sense of poetic narrative, often centered around an evocative image or phrase, while sometimes drawing on figures in mythology and pop culture. With a fondness for many musical genres, he often weaves together threads from minimalism, jazz, Latin music, 20th Century classical music, popular music, and many other sources.
